 A traditional method of polishing, French polishing became prominent in the 18th century. French polishing was commonly used on wood such as mahogany and other expensive timbers. It was considered the best finish for fine furniture and string instruments such as pianos and guitars

Since French Polishing is a 'process' and not a 'product' it takes considerable effort to achieve this look. It is far more forgiving than any other finish in the sense that, unlike other finishes, it can be easily repaired - which is ideally suited to furniture.

We do jobs as small as refinishing a table top to full antique restoration.
